Occupy Sandy Data Project

Occupy Data hackathon participants will be collaborating on a data project with Occupy Sandy Tech and OWS Tech Ops.  These groups have laid down the initial technology infrastructure for data collection and information management.  However, aggregation of data across sites for with-in and across site analysis and visualization, and continued data support is an existing need of the Occupy Sandy network.

There are two main goals for hackathon:

  • Data analysis and visualization

Help assess the breadth and depth of relief effort, and the extent of unmet needs in key neighborhoods.

  • Developing data collection, management and reporting applications

Occupy Sandy hubs and their community partners are at various stages in this process, and better resources are currently needed.
